This is what happens to a unwanted dog!

February 6, 2008
This is Phoebe a 1 year old Standard Poodle.
She was surrendered by her owner to a local shelter.  The shelter gave us a call an
asked if we could please take her because her condition is so bad she needed more
care than the shelter could give her.  Her hind toenails were curled up to her pads.  I
found stitches in her belly from when the owner had her spay months ago.  She is so
malnourished and matted she can hardly walk. We had her groomed right when we
picked her up to relieve any pain due to the severe matting. Her weight before
grooming was 20lbs and after 18lbs her ideal weight should be 50lbs.  She had a full
panel of blood work done and checked out well which leads us to believe she was
flat-out starved by her owners.  She is extremely dehydrated so she is getting
intravenous fluids.  She is eating and drinking good and is such a sweet-heart and
loves to be cuddled.  She needs a prayer from all of our viewers and supports in
hopes she will make it through, she has a long road ahead of her!
We will keep you updated on her progress.
A BIG THANK YOU to Sophia from Lansdale Feed & Pet for grooming her on such
short notice!

Update February 20, 2008
We are very heartbroken to tell all of you that hoped and prayed for Phoebe, that
Phoebe has crossed the Rainbow Bridge!  Our Pheobe was a sweet little girl!  She
has been through much suffering in her short life and unfortunately her body could not
fight anymore! She was such a trooper, and we miss her terribly! We only had 2 short
weeks with her, but fell madly in love with her! She touched everyones heart that met
her and we were looking forward to the day that she would be able to run around and
play  with the others, only to have our dreams shattered!  We wish we would have
gotten her earlier so her chances of pulling through this would have been alot better,
but we did not, and it breaks our heart! The only comfort we have at this point is that
Phoebe was not alone went she crossed!  We were with her and we held her!  We
kissed her and told her it was OK to go!  We told her that Dad was waiting for her at
the other end of the Bridge and he would love her like we did!    Phoebe is now at
peace and she is not suffering anymore!
Not much of a waist
